I graduated from the Kelowna College of Professional Counselling and am a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP) and now am working on completing a degree in Psychology with the Thompson Rivers University. With a 25-year background in natural health and lifelong learning I bring a wealth of experience to the therapy process.

Strategies for helping are continually evolving with research advances. I strive to integrate the best research evidence-based approaches and emerging promising practices in my counselling and value approaches to health both physical and mental which include all aspects of a person, integrating physical, mental, spiritual and social perspectives.

My approach is to manage symptoms, develop coping strategies, and boost self-esteem. With tailored techniques to improve focus, organization, and impulse control, addressing both practical skills and emotional regulation challenges. My coaching style recognizes that everyone has strengths and weaknesses and so we will learn together and build upon your strengths while mitigating any barriers to success.

ADHD coaching, however, is forward-looking and action-oriented. It helps clients develop practical strategies to manage ADHD-related challenges like time management and focus, without delving into mental health diagnoses. While therapy heals, coaching empowers you to achieve goals and create systems for success in everyday life. My motto is “nothing changes, if nothing changes” so I encourage you to be honest and ask yourself “am I ready to put the work in?”

My approach is to manage symptoms, develop coping strategies, and boost self-esteem. With tailore... Read More

Trauma Recovery

Susannah-Joy (SJ) began supporting personal growth in others in 1986. She developed an experiential understanding of the importance of a trauma-informed perspective in the early 90s, providing mental health support through Alberta Social Services, local churches, and community agencies.

When her family to Kelowna in 2004, Susannah-Joy added to her education and then went into private practice as a clinical counsellor. Fulfilling a Bucket List item, she moved overseas in 2007 and spent 7 years in Kuwait, offering psychotherapy to a wide variety of international clients. In 2015 she returned to Kelowna and with her partner, co-founded William & Associates.

Susannah-Joy made the decision in 2024 to pivot from clinical counselling to trauma recovery coaching. She finds the egalitarian and collaborative approach an excellent fit for her values and perspective. SJ focuses specifically on betrayal trauma, trauma recovery, relationship building, and mediation & reconciliation, capitalizing on her past education and experience.
